Veshmeshok / Daypack in WWI "Lozenge" camouflage pattern
The Veshmeshok used to be "just" a simple hundred years old Soviet Army backpack worn by millions of Soviet and Russian soldiers and later via the surplus market by Finnish Hipsters. ;-)
It indeed is a simple yet very practical design coming with only one adjustable sling that at the same time closes the bag and serves as shoulder straps. Simply put - the heavier you fill the bag, the more secure the knot gets in holding it.
I decided to "modernize" the concept and give it new live as the "big brother" of the ubiquitous Hipster Bag / Drawstring bag. And a big brother it is, having way more room and a "proper" sling instead of strings. Also, all Veshmeshoks feature an external pocket.
These two versions come in one of the very first ever camouflage patterns - the German "Lozenge", printed on heavy Denim it comes in a lighter "Day" and a darker "Night" version. Each Veshmeshok has been which has been reinforced at the bottom with the opposite pattern and the same goes for the pockets. All the webbing is 2 in wide natural canvas. The external pocket is closed with a button and all versions are lined in light-green cotton canvas.
As most of my bags, these also come with an individual fact sheet detailing the materials used and naturally printed on repurposed maps.
